Bronchitis

When the goblet cells increase in number and enlargement, they narrow the lumen and adversely affect the patient’s breathing. When sputum is secreted, it is much more difficult to be expelled from the narrow respiratory tract.

In the goblet cell elimination technique, narrowed bronchi are reached through the bronchoscope with balloons specially developed for COPD Balloon Treatment. In this region, specially made balloons are inflated at a pressure and frequency that will not damage the lungs. The sputum and thickened tissue in this area are eliminated with a balloon and then aspirated and cleaned.

It is a permanent treatment method. Because goblet cells proliferate with an induction triggered by cigarette smoke. When they are removed, there is no reason for goblet cells to develop again if the patient has quit smoking. In other words, the treatment method is a permanent bronchial opening treatment technique.
